The United States is a More Environmental Development, Consideration as it’s Gross National Product per capita recently passed $60,000 due to Trump’s protectionist policy (U.S. GNI Per Capita 1962-2021, 2021). It ranked number 6 among other states.
The country’s Human Development Index stands at 0.926 ranking 17th in the world (Human Development Reports, 2020). The U.S.’s exports to Canada, Mexico, and China predominantly accounting for 18%, 15%, and 9% of total exports respectively (Workman, 2021). Where as, almost half of the U.S.’s imports comes from Asia, with North American trade partners supplying 25.2%, and Europe brings in 23.9% of imports (Workman, 2021). The United States are involved in trade organization such as the World Trade Organization, the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) (Trade Organizations | United States Trade Representative, 2021).

- In addition to pursuing U.S. trade policy objectives through the World Trade Organization, USTR, together with other agencies, works with various regional fora.
- Among these are the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum and the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), which has a Trade and Investment Framework Arrangement with the United States.
- APEC was established in 1989 and has been instrumental in advancing trade and investment initiatives throughout the Asia-Pacific Region.
- The United States has close ties with many of the member countries of ASEAN and is using our Trade and Investment Framework Agreement with this regional organization to advance trade and investment objectives.
The United States had diplomatic relations with the most nations for many years, but as of 2019, China has overtaken the achievement (BBC News, 2019). The U.S. is close with developed democratic states such as Canada, Britain, Australia, and France. Among the nine nuclear weapons power besides itself, the United States has friendly relations with four nuclear states, specifically the U.K., France, India, and Israel (Katz & Quealy, 2021). The main enemies of the United States are North Korea has completely different values from the U.S., Russia, as a past Cold-War enemy, U.S. coup in Iran, and the recent tension with China due to the trade war in Trump Administration (Norman, 2016).
Many on going conflicts in the middle east
Since the event of September 11th, 2001, the United States has launched its War on Terror and the campaign to destroy ISIS. These mission spawned many U.S. intervention mission that created conflicts in countries such as the 2001 War in Afghanistan, the Second U.S. Intervention in Somalia Civil War in 2007, Iraq and Syria Intervention in 2014, and the recent Insurgency in Cabo Delgado recently in 2021. These conflicts against terrorism actively involve the U.S. until the present (Daalder & Lindsay, 2001).
