  • is interpretive way of understanding the world and explaining the world without the restriction of the scientific methods
    • taking into account for history, facts, values, morals, philosophy (Interpretative/Subjective) to study International Relations 2
    • Post-Positivism believes knowledge and understanding can and must be explained through the Post-Positivism methods such as history, facts, values, morals, philosophy (Interpretative/Subjective) to study International Relations
    • contradicts:: Positivism claims that knowledge can only be obtained through scientific means

Approach 2

  • Human Nature cannot be cut from human relations studies
  • Subjects: law, philosophy, history, morality
  • Focus on Understanding using assumptions
  • Theory does apply to theorists
