In addition to pursuing U.S. trade policy objectives through the World Trade Organization, USTR, together with other agencies, works with various regional fora.

APEC was established in 1989 and has been instrumental in advancing trade and investment initiatives throughout the Asia-Pacific Region.

The United States has close ties with many of the member countries of ASEAN and is using our Trade and Investment Framework Agreement with this regional organization to advance trade and investment objectives.

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) helps countries, both OECD members and non-members, reap the benefits and confront the challenges of a global economy by promoting economic growth, free markets, and efficient use of resources.
